SEN and inclusion support services

Some children and young people have health and other difficulties which means that they require additional support and opportunities to meet their individual educational needs.

The City Council's website provides details about Special Needs and Inclusion provision in Coventry including information about special schools and the SEN and Inclusion Support Services (external website) listed below.

These services  work together with children and young people (particularly those regarded as vulnerable, or with special needs), their schools, their parents/carers, and others.

Nurses in special schools and mainstream schools (external website) help to provide specialist support needed by pupils who have particular medical conditions and health issues. Further information about medical conditions including life limiting conditions is available elsewhere in this directory.

Coventry Parent Partnership provides information and support to parents whose children have special educational needs.

Coventry City Council's Children's Disabity Team works in partnership with other services to ensure that the needs of children and young people with disabilities are met.

The Special Education Needs and Disability Division (external site) of the DfES has specific guidance aimed at parents and carersschools & SEN governors and teachers, educational professionals and learning assistants.

Information about medical conditions including life limiting conditions, and specialist health services is available elsewhere in this directory.
